Synesthesia, the fusion of the senses
Synesthesia is the combined assimilation or interference of various types of sensations from different senses in a single perceptual act; it is a faculty that some people possess to intertwine their senses. A synesthete may, for example, hear colors, see sounds, and perceive taste sensations upon touching an object with a particular texture. But let's not be mistaken: what might initially seem like a hallucination is actually an added perception that arises in the brain, thus representing a richer world in...
sensations, fuller, but totally normal for the one who perceives it.
Synesthesia is the ability to intertwine the senses, to hear colors, taste sounds, or feel textures in words.
Synesthetes frequently perceive correspondences between color tones, sound tones, and flavor intensities involuntarily. For example, touching a softer surface might make them taste sweet. These experiences are not mere associations, but rather perceptions.
There are several degrees and types of synesthesia. The most common occurs in people who see colors in numbers, letters, or words. They may involuntarily assign a color to each day of the week or each month of the year; for example, the word "emotion" might be red, as might the number 6, regardless of whether any of their senses are impaired. For instance, a person who can see colors when they hear words may continue to perceive these colors even if they were to lose their sight later in life.
What if you could smell colors, touch sounds, or see tastes?
Synesthesia is a phenomenon that transcends conventional perception, and ONE SENSE invites us to explore reality through this expanded sensitivity via art. ONE SENSE is an artistic and publishing project that invites you to discover, explore, and experience that point where the senses intertwine and alter our perception of reality.
Through photographs that evoke sounds hidden within the images, illustrations that vibrate with a chromatic palette, full of tactile sensations inspired by the musicality of forms, poetry that becomes texture, aroma, and light. Images that transform verses into enveloping movements and sensory games that challenge perception and stimulate new ways of experiencing art, compose this piece of unique format and nature.

ONE SENSE sensory fusion
Through a dialogue between photography, illustration, poetry, music, and interactive games, ONE SENSE materializa la fusión sensorial de la sinestesia.
Each element of the work is designed to provoke unexpected connections, generating an immersive, multisensory experience that awakens
the senses.
The Book: Poetry, Photography and Illustration
The book is the heart of the project. Its pages combine poetry, illustration, and photography, inviting readers to feel the words, hear the images, and discover new meanings through their senses. Each piece has been created to induce a state of expanded perception, stimulating the imagination and opening doors to synesthetic experiences.
Experimental Video Art and Harmony
The audiovisual piece included in ONE SENSE explores synesthesia through moving images and sound. This audiovisual composition transports the viewer to a universe where shapes and colors flow through music. This material not only complements the book but also offers an independent sensory experience, where each person can interpret, feel, and connect in a unique and intimate way with their own emotions.
The Sensory Box: Liquids of Colors and Aromas
The ONE SENSE experience is completed with a small box containing liquids of different colors and aromas, designed to test the reader's synesthetic abilities. Each small container holds a scent that challenges conventional perception:
What does the color blue smell like? How does yellow feel on the skin? Can a
A scent that awakens a melody in your mind?
This box allows you to physically interact with the concept of synesthesia, inviting you to experiment with combinations of color and smell, to discover unexpected connections and to train multisensory sensitivity.

ONE SENSE, where the senses converse
Beyond this curious journey through the senses, ONE SENSE is an invitation to explore perception from new perspectives. Like art in any of its languages, this project does not seek answers, but rather to raise new questions.
Do we truly perceive the world as we believe? Is it possible to expand our way of feeling or perceiving? Can we train our synesthetic sensitivity or any other dormant ability within us? Are we as limited as we tend to believe?
A proposal for dreamers, artists, sensory explorers and anyone who wants to challenge their way of experiencing reality and immerse themselves in the magic of sensory correspondences, awakening new ways of perceiving and inhabiting Art.
